Prototype 1.0

After I designed various solutions, I started to make the first product models. The first was to use the cardboard that can quickly reappear its appearance and size of the product, and I could use the quite convenient laser cut to complete the first model production.
I used laser printing to create a 1:4 aspect ratio model, which allowed me to see my deficiencies in product modeling and sizing more directly. After many adjustments , I got the needed product size data.

So ,after my first texting,I changed some details about my previous sketch as follows:

1.Changing product tilt angle to accommodate the car seat: from 120° to 110°

2.Change the way to open the front cover: from fold-over to push-pull (the front cover can be used as a support plate to allow the dog to walk forward when it is opened)

3.Thinking more about the installation method : by using the ISOFIX system

Then,Although the scaled model can reduce the proportion of the design, the 1:1 ratio model is also very important. It can make me more intuitive to determine whether the product conforms to the seat line and whether the size is suitable in the application, including other parts. Whether it can be achieved during the adaptation process, etc.
So I made an equal-scale model of the product using wood instead of plastic (plastic processing is too cumbersome and we can not complete the mold needed for injection molding)

As you can see ,the first full size model is too big for dogs, which can even accommodate an adult.
